Build a relationship that feels connected and secure.

Humans are wired for connection. Our relationships can be a source of tremendous joy, support, and meaning. At the same time, even loving couples can find themselves caught in patterns that are difficult to break.

Maybe you keep having the same argument without ever really resolving it. Maybe communication has become tense or distant. Maybe you love each other but feel more like roommates than partners. Or perhaps something happened in the relationship that changed the way you see one another and left you wondering how to rebuild trust.

You do not have to navigate those patterns alone.

I provide couples therapy and relationship counseling for partners who want to better understand one another, improve communication, and create a more secure and connected relationship.

My approach is grounded primarily in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment theory, with tools from the Gottman Method incorporated when they can be helpful. Rather than simply teaching couples how to argue more effectively, we work to understand the deeper emotional patterns underneath conflict.

Together, we can explore questions such as:

  • What happens between you when conflict begins?

  • What are you each trying to communicate beneath anger, frustration, or withdrawal?

  • What emotional needs are not being expressed or understood?

  • How have past experiences shaped the way you respond to one another?

  • How can you begin creating a relationship where both partners feel safer, more understood, and more connected?

The goal is not to determine who is right or wrong. It is to help you understand the cycle you are caught in and create new ways of responding to one another.

Common Couples Therapy Goals

Improving Communication
Learn to express thoughts, emotions, needs, and concerns in ways that create understanding rather than escalating conflict.

Reducing Conflict
Identify the patterns that repeatedly pull you into arguments, defensiveness, criticism, or withdrawal.

Healing Relationship Ruptures
Work through painful experiences and begin repairing the emotional injuries that can make it difficult to reconnect.

Rebuilding Trust
Create opportunities for honesty, vulnerability, accountability, and emotional safety after trust has been damaged.

Increasing Emotional Connection
Move beyond simply functioning as a couple and work toward feeling genuinely connected, understood, and supported.

Navigating Life Transitions Together
Strengthen your relationship while navigating major changes, stress, family dynamics, or other challenges that affect your partnership.

Whether you have been together for a few years or many decades, couples therapy can provide a space to slow down, understand what is happening between you, and begin creating a different pattern.

You do not have to wait until your relationship is in crisis to seek support.
